According to an article in the Dothan Eagle, with the coming flourish of new chain restaurants in Dothan, the city will likely keep it’s CBS News ranking as one of America’s top 50 fast food capitals. However, there’s no guarantee Dothan would still come in as No. 8.
Several businesses had to close permanently in a large part due to the pandemic. The bright side is, empty existing infrastructure provided new opportunities for multiple entrepreneurs! What was once a Wendy’s on Ross Clark Circle in front of Sam’s Club will soon be a Schlotzky’s Deli. So instead of a single with cheese, residents and visitors will be able to order a ham and cheese among many other options!
In addition, a new Taco Bell is being built on the former site of Garner Insurance Agency across from Texas Roadhouse. The addition will make a run for the border that much easier with a total of four Taco Bells in town.
Adding to the list of new chain restaurants in Dothan, the former Bruster’s Ice Cream will soon be a Domino’s Pizza near the north side Walmart. Finally, the article shared the news that a Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen franchise purchased the former Burger King property on Ross Clark Circle. But plans have not yet been submitted to the city for further development.
More than Fast Food
For an added bonus, two new retail chains are in the works as well. Bath & Body Works is refreshing the Dothan Pavilion with the arrival of its second location in the city. And what once sold rings will be selling circles of a different sort. The site of Bradshaw’s Jewelers will soon be home to Discount Tire.
